Who it's for

This cleanser is designed for acne-prone, sensitive, dry, or reactive skin — including skin dealing with eczema or rosacea. It's specifically built to not strip or irritate skin that's already sensitized, which makes it a common first step for anyone doing an active acne treatment routine (benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, exfoliating acids), since it cleanses without adding extra irritation on top of those treatments.

How to use it

1. Wet your face with lukewarm water.
2. Dispense a small amount onto damp skin, then massage in circular motions for about 30–60 seconds (some sources say up to a full minute).
3. Rinse thoroughly with warm water or a soft, warm cloth.
4. Use morning and night. If your skin feels reactive or tight the morning after using retinoids or benzoyl peroxide at night, use cooler water and a shorter, gentler cleanse.
5. It removes light makeup and sunscreen, but for heavier or waterproof makeup, double-cleanse first with an oil-based cleanser.
6. Can also double as a body cleanser or an acne-safe cleanser for makeup brushes.

Key ingredients & what they do

• Cocamidopropyl Betaine & Decyl/Lauryl Glucoside – sulfate-free, coconut- and glucose-derived surfactants that lift away oil, dirt, and makeup without stripping the skin's natural lipids.
• Glycerin – a humectant that draws in moisture, helping keep skin hydrated even while cleansing.
• Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract – soothes redness and irritation and helps calm reactive, inflamed skin.
• Camellia Sinensis/Oleifera (Green Tea) Leaf Extract – antioxidant that helps defend against environmental damage and can help calm inflammation.
• Fomes Officinalis (Mushroom) Extract – soothing/conditioning; helps balance lipid levels and skin pH.
• Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water – mild astringent with soothing, antioxidant properties.
• Panthenol (Provitamin B5) – hydrating and skin-barrier supportive, helps with healing.
• Citric Acid – present in a very small amount, mainly to adjust pH (it's technically an AHA but at cleanser concentrations it's not a meaningful exfoliant, it just balances the formula and rinses off quickly).

Layering with retinol, vitamin C, or exfoliating acids

This is one of the easiest products in a routine to pair with actives, because it's designed for exactly that purpose:

• Retinol/retinoids: Fine to use — this cleanser is often specifically recommended as a morning cleanser after using retinoids the night before, since it won't compound irritation.
• Vitamin C: No conflict. Cleanse first with this, then apply vitamin C serum to clean, slightly damp skin.
• Exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA) or benzoyl peroxide: This cleanser is designed to pair well with exfoliating acids and benzoyl peroxide — it preps the skin without adding irritation, so your other actives can perform without your skin being over-stressed by the cleansing step itself.

Since the cleanser itself is non-active (no meaningful exfoliating or retinol content), you don't need to worry about "double-dosing" — you can safely apply your treatment products right after cleansing.
